I was a short-term contractor through a contracting house. My duties included maintenance of assembly, PL/1, and COBOL programs. In addition, the last five months were spent designing, testing, documenting, and benchmarking a highly visible systems utility that was written in S/370 assembler and interfaced to VSAM. The utility was installed with no problems.
While at The Costal Corporation, I learned PL/1 and VSAM.
The contract expired after two extensions, and I had an offer from TEI, Inc. which looked very exciting.
The Coastal Corporation was named Coastal States Gas Corporation at the time I took the contract and was renamed while I was on the contract.
